A dispute between a couple in Brandenburg fatally ended on Monday. The husband is said to have tried to drown his wife in a pond. The woman succumbed to her injuries.

A 40-year-old woman died in Werder upon Havel after an argument with her husband. Her husband, 64, is said to have acted on her multiple times after a verbal argument and tried to drown her in a pond, police said shortly after the crime Monday night. Despite immediate resuscitation measures, the seriously injured 40-year-old man died on the property in Brandenburg.

The man then fled with his car. The police searched for him, even with a helicopter. At an industrial site in nearby Plötzin, he hit the wall of a house and suffered serious injuries.
