New Corona Cases: Rosenheim breaks the upper limit again

The independent city of Rosenheim again broke the mark of 50 new crown cases in one week and extrapolated to 100,000 residents. The value was 50.5 on Sunday and can be explained by a serial test in an asylum-seeker accommodation, the Bavarian State Office of Food Safety and Health (LGL) said in Erlangen.

Another outbreak in the accommodation of asylum seekers

A few days ago, the city of Rosenheim had passed 50 new cases. Even then, several asylum seekers were infected in one accommodation. The residents of the home have been in quarantine since then. This did not result in further tightening of the initial restrictions for the Rosenheim population. Because, according to the Rosenheim Health Office, the outbreak could be limited locally, the accommodation of asylum seekers had to be “calculated”.

Asylum-seekers’ homes and anchorage centers in Bavaria are repeatedly noted due to high infection rates. The Bavarian Refugee Council informed the Bavarian Interior Ministry in April that the lack of space in such facilities made it difficult to meet the requirements of protection against the crown. The Ministry, for its part, contested that, according to Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann, spatial equalization had been guaranteed.

Rosenheim and Traunstein counties also with high numbers.

There are still comparatively many new infections in the Rosenheim district (29.5) and the neighboring Traunstein district (37.8). The virus has spread widely in nursing homes in Traunstein. Therefore, the authorities banned visits to hospitals, nursing homes and accommodation for asylum seekers there. The visitation ban is valid until May 15. According to the DPA, the Bavarian health authority wants to set an early warning limit of 35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in order to warn the affected municipalities and initiate measures there in due course.
