Former HSV player Dennis Diekmeier was instrumental in SV Sandhausen’s 1-0 win against FC St. Pauli. His shot into the visitor’s goal was deflected into his own goal in the 45th minute by Pauli defender Daniel Buballa. Julius Biada prepared the goal with a great solo.

FC St. Pauli, with four goals against 1. FC Heidenheim last weekend, were the strongest team at the beginning and lost several opportunities in the early stages. In the 76th minute Sebastian Ohlsson missed a great equalizer opportunity, firing just over the hosts’ goal with a dropkick. Jannes Wieckhoff missed the guest door by just inches in the 89th minute.

Sandhausen is on top with six points after three days of play, FC St. Pauli is four points behind after a win, a draw and a loss.

VfL Bochum and VfL Osnabrück split 0-0 in the second game on Friday night. Over long distances, 4,231 spectators watched a low-shot game at a manageable level. After the presentation of former Osnabrücker Simon Zoller, Bochum center forward Silvere Ganvoula scored 1-0 on the foot, but hit the post from three meters (minute 20).

Overall, the Bochum team was the most active team, but they did not take advantage of their superiority enough. Osnabrück’s Bashkim Ajdini saw yellow-red in the final phase for repeated fouls (83).

Due to the tie, both teams remain undefeated and have five points on their account after three games.
