Friday UI positivity




The seven-day positivity rate on campus tends to go down, with Wednesday and Thursday numbers going from 0.9 to 0.7 percent on Friday after lengthening Friday.

Of the 11,993 new tests on Wednesday, 47 returned positive, at a rate of 0.4 percent.

On Thursday, out of 6266 new tests, 34 converters arrived at a rate of 0.5 percent.

It has the lowest positivity rate in back-to-back days on campus after 27-28 Aug Gust, while UI had 0.4 percent consecutive days.

Friday: UI tests





After recording four positive tests for COVID-19 this week, the Blue Ridge School District will move toward all distance learning by at least September 25th. Piet County Journal-Republican Editor Steve Hoffman Reports.

Blue Ridge becomes the first entire district in the region to migrate to all distance learning; In the past three weeks, similar action has been taken in two high schools, Cerro Gordo and Salt Fork.

Positive tests included two staff members, a student from Snyder Elementary and a student from Blue Ridge High School.

“We are coordinating our efforts with the DeWitt / Piat bi-county health department to immediately identify and monitor individuals who have recently contacted Kovid-19 individuals to prevent further spread in the school and community,” said Superintendent Hillary Steinfe. “We are following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as state and local health departments for best practices and procedures for protecting everyone’s health.”

Monday will be a remote planning day for staff who have no assignments assigned to students who attend face-to-face two days a week. Remote instruction for all students will begin the next day.

Staff members and students who were in contact with the COVID-19 case will be separated for 14 days. Deep cleaning of district buildings is also planned.




Ford on Friday

The number of new cases in Ford County has risen to 125 since Friday.

Of those, 19 have been classified as active and one resident has been hospitalized, according to the county health department.

The highest number of cases occurred in the age group of 20 to 29 (22), followed by 30 to 39 (19).

On Friday, the Covid-19 alert level list included vermilion from 30 counties across the state, announced by the Illinois Department of Public Health on Friday.

County metrics are evaluated every Friday; Any county with two or more risk indicators is added as determined by the state.

According to IDPH, Sindoor’s concern is:

– New cases per 100,000: The vermilion is above 96, which is significantly higher than the target rate of 500 or less.

– Visit to the Emergency Department for Illnesses like Civil-19: The number of vermilion has increased by 1.5 per cent in the last week; The target is “declining or stable” in seven days.

Although the reasons counties reach alert levels vary, some common factors include: cases and outbreaks associated with college parties, weddings, large gatherings, bars and clubs, long-term care facilities and other gathering settings, travel. Vermilion on Friday
