A fitness influencer who thought COVID-19 didn’t exist died at age 33 after contracting the virus on a trip to Turkey.

Dmitriy Stuzhuk had been discharged from the hospital in his native Ukraine after testing positive, but had to return quickly as his health rapidly deteriorated.

To his 1 million subscribers, the 33-year-old looked super fit while promoting sports and healthy living.

But his ex-wife and mother of their three children, Sofia Stuzhuk, 25, who announced his death, said the coronavirus had triggered heart complications.

After getting sick, he had posted to his fans: “I want to share how I got sick and warn everyone strongly.

“I was one who thought that Covid does not exist …

“Until I got sick.”

He told them: “COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-TERM DISEASE! And it is very heavy.”

Dmitriy woke up in Turkey with a swollen neck and breathing difficulties, he said.

When he returned to Ukraine, he tested positive and was hospitalized.

“The hospital is completely full of people, some of whom are treated in the corridors,” he posted.

He showed how he needed an oxygen device to breathe.

After eight days, he was allowed to leave his ward instead of staying in the crowded Kiev hospital.

But after a few hours they took him back to the hospital, where Sofia said he was soon in “serious condition” and “unconscious”.

Stuzhuk, who has five million followers, posted while fighting for his life: “Dima (Dmitriy) had problems with his cardiovascular system …

“His heart is not supporting …”

He suffered a clinical death but doctors restarted his heart.

She posted: “His condition is extremely serious. No one can do anything about this.

“I did everything I could to keep the father of my three children alive. But now nothing depends on me …”

Then Stuzhuk, heartbroken, announced his death.

The couple had three children, David, Lola and Olivia. The youngest is just nine months old.

They parted ways six months ago after she complained of “constant betrayal, cursing, fighting and stress,” but recently said they were back on good terms.

She posted: “Only warm memories remain, three beautiful children, and one worthwhile experience.

“God, it’s so terrible to realize that he’s no longer with us …”
