Anyone who starts Resident Evil 3 Remake on the PlayStation 5 you will find a small additional detail that is communicated to you via Sony’s new DualSense pad.
Thanks to a tweet from @DreamcastGuy on Twitter, It has been revealed that the light bar on the DualSense pad will act as a sort of Jill Valentine’s health gauge.
The pad will communicate Jill’s health as green for good, yellow for pain, or red for critical, and you can see it all through a quick glance at the DualSense in your hands.
I found a nice little item today in Resident Evil 3 on PS5. Your controller turns bloodier with lights when you hurt yourself and turns green when you recover! pic.twitter.com/5Abbrwk5RX

Gamers who picked up the game on PS4 may recall that the DualShock 4 pad had a similar function, but due to the darker lights on most PS4 pads, it couldn’t be seen as clearly.
Sure, the newer DualShock 4 pads have a front light bar on top of the touchpad, but it’s still a fairly small and hard-to-see element of the hardware design.
It’s nice that little features like this are more obvious to gamers who take the time to play older games with Sony’s newer technology, then add a sense of discovery to these older titles and add an incentive to go back to their ‘ a lot of shame ‘and playing games you may not have completed.
Resident Evil 3 is available on both PS5 and Xbox Series X / S via backward compatibility, with rumors suggesting that the game will also be coming to Nintendo Switch via cloud soon.
