Announced in early November, Google is adding additional Covid-related health and safety information to its Google travel booking service. Users will be able to view Covid-19 health and safety precautions for hotels and other vacation rental properties when searching for their accommodation through the Google Travel tool.
Listed health and safety features include:
- Whether or not there are improved cleaning procedures
- If employees are trained in Covid-19 cleaning procedures and thorough hand washing
- If masks are required on the property and if they are available to guests
- If there is an option for contactless check-in
Hotels associated with Google Travel
Marriott, Hilton, Comfort Inn (Choice Hotels), Holiday Inn (IHG), Best Western, Hyatt, Radisson, and Four Seasons are among the hotels associated with Google Travel as part of its new enhanced health information service.
Google notes that the new feature will help travelers make informed decisions during the holiday season. And the ITIJ has no doubt that the new service will prove extremely popular with prospective travelers, who now, more than ever, have personal health and safety in mind.
