Deep Stone Crypt Raid Guide

Destiny 2 raid into the deep stone crypt
The Deep Stone Crypt raid has a recommended power of 1220 for the first encounter. The last encounter reaches 1250 Power.

Taking place in Europe, Deep Stone Crypt is the eighth raid in Destiny 2. Although it only has a handful of encounters, this raid has some mechanics that will make the first few attempts quite difficult. Before entering, the recommended power is 1220 and the final fight comes to 1250. The closer you are to the maximum power, the easier it will be.

Recommended Weapons: Deep Stone Crypt

Destiny 2 Deep Stone Crypt Recommended Weapons
Xenophage is still a great option for dealing with a lot of DPS, especially in the first encounter of the Deep Stone Crypt raid.

With Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt, the weapon meta has changed considerably. Fan favorite weapons are gone, and new legendary weapons are making a name for themselves. This has resulted in many weapons being viable and unfeasible for raid encounters.

For the Deep Stone Crypt, it is worth finding a heavy machine gun that you are comfortable with. Whether it’s Heir Apparent, the new Thermal Erosion or something like Xenophage is a totally personal preference.

The other types of weapons should be those that take advantage of the Overload, Anti-Barrier, and Unstoppable mods of the seasonal artifact.

Part of Pike & Sparrow – Desolation

The first encounter in Deep Stone Crypt is a Pike section (although Sparrows can be used). For this section, the goal is to work from bubble to bubble to avoid the storm, working on icebergs to reach the end.

Each bubble offers a buff called Shelter from the Storm, and while outside of a bubble, the storm applies the Freeze debuff. A player will die if the Frostbite debuff reaches 10 stacks. As long as he’s inside these bubbles, Fallen will attack. A fallen brig will storm the last safe point.

Disable crypt security – restricted

The first real encounter of Deep Stone Crypt is Crypt Security. For this section, the goal is to use the Scanner and Operator power-ups to lower the shielding of the center fuse tubes, allowing damage to be dealt. Use the Augment stations to start the fight.

  1. Acquire scanner and operator benefits
  2. The scanner looks through the floor and calls the panels, transfers polish
  3. The operator trips all 4 panels
  4. The benefit of the scanner passed to the operator below
  5. New scanner indicates which tube fuses to fire

The arena is divided into a light and a dark side, as well as an upper and lower level. Each side has an Augment station, which is used to transfer Operator and Scanner benefits.

Have two players on the light side and two on the right, with two other players below. Players on the light and dark side are responsible for looking through the ground and saying which panel is correct for the players below to fire.

The start of the encounter causes the Operator Vandals to appear, dropping the Operator buff when defeated. Take this buff and transfer it using the Augment Stations to the players below. A player should also have the Scanner buff at this point.

The scanner should look through the floor and tell which panel needs to be triggered and then pass the scanner to the opposite side using the magnifying station. The next scanner should do the same.

The operator needs to quickly shoot each of the panels and then pass the operator upgrade again. Scanners will need to pass the scanner upgrade next.

At this point, the under-sand scanner will be able to see which of the six center tube fuses is the correct one to fire. The other five players must destroy the fuse and then move on to the next one who calls the scanner. This damage phase lasts for approximately 60 seconds. When the armor on the tubes drops, the damage phase ends and the steps must be repeated.

Throughout the fight, Overload Captains will spawn as well as Sentinel Servers deactivating Augment stations. Dealing with the Servants must be a top priority. During the damage phase, the Exploder Shanks will appear, so keep them in mind to prevent the team from erasing them.

When all six fuses in the tube are destroyed, the match ends. Claim your reward from the chest near the door.

Atraks-1, Fallen Exo – Clarity Control

The next big encounter in the Deep Stone Crypt raid is against Atraks-1, Fallen Exo. This encounter focuses on dealing damage to the Atraks-1 Replicators, blasting debuffs into space, and utilizing the Scanner and Operator perks.

  1. Defeat Vandal and claim the Operator buff, three players go to space
  2. The space team defeats Vandal and claims the Scanner perk, defeats the Sentinel Servitors
  3. The scanner calls the correct Atraks-1 Replicator, it is destroyed
  4. Replication debuff is collected, operator can shoot player to cycle debuff
  5. Pass the Scanner / Operator buffs to players not in the space as needed, they do the above
  6. When all four Replication debuffs are collected, four players enter an airlock and the Operator shoots at them.
  7. Repeat

Like the first encounter, the Atraks-1 fight is divided into two distinct sections, a space station and the Crypt. The space station has several airlocks that are used to eject the Atraks-1 replication handicap into space.

To gain the Replicator Atraks-1 debuff, players must defeat the correct Replicator Atraks-1. The correct one is detected by the player who collects the Scanner buff. The one on the right will have a bright pattern in front of it.

The Atraks-1 replication debuff lasts for 40 seconds, after which it kills the player. An operator can shoot the player to repeat the debuff, updating the timer.

When four Atraks-1 Replicators have been defeated and the Replication debuff has accumulated, those four players must enter an airlock (opened by an Operator) and fired by the Operator to expel the debuff into space.

The damage phase is in progress. Each correct Atraks-1 Replicator that is defeated removes a portion of the boss’s health bar. The Atraks-1 Replicator can be damaged even after its disappearance, use it to your advantage.

The final notch of the boss health bar is a condensed version of the fight. Each Atraks-1 Replicator will initiate a clearing mechanic, killing them in the correct order (as indicated by the Scanner) to reduce the last notch of health.
