Queensland authorities are fighting to contain a Covid-19 outbreak in the southeast of the state stemming from the Brisbane Juvenile Detention Center in Wacol. While no child detained at the center has contracted the virus, the workers and their families have created a small community group.
To contain the outbreak, Queensland authorities have published a list of hotspots where Covid-positive people visited while they were infected.
Those who attended some places must isolate themselves immediately for 14 days. Other members of the public health team will communicate with others to discuss next steps.
A longer list of potential hot spots has been published, with Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk urging everyone who visited to closely monitor their health and seek immediate evidence and isolation if they develop even the slightest symptoms.
More detailed information is available on the Queensland government website. This list will be updated as more locations are added or removed.
Hotspot locations
All passengers sitting in rows 25-29 of flight VA962 from Brisbane to Sydney on August 17 must immediately isolate themselves for 14 days. If they develop symptoms, they should be tested.
All other passengers on board the flight should watch for symptoms.
Public health officials will also be in contact with everyone who dined at the Jam Pantry café in Greenslopes on Aug. 16 between 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Those who attended coffee outside of those hours should monitor for symptoms.
Possible Access Point Locations
According to the Queensland government, all people who attended these places during the indicated time should monitor for Covid symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop.
