What’s new: China plans to establish regional Covid-19 vaccination stations to vaccinate Chinese citizens abroad, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a press conference on Sunday.

Speaking on the sidelines of China’s annual national political meetings, Wang told reporters that Beijing has been making efforts to help Chinese citizens abroad to receive Chinese or foreign-made Covid-19 vaccines.

He said that more than 50 countries have been accepting Chinese citizens into their national vaccination programs. He added that there are Chinese citizens abroad who are already receiving vaccines made in China according to local law.

And what is more: China’s Foreign Minister also said that China is preparing to issue electronic health certificates for international travelers and mutual recognition of nucleic acid tests and vaccines between countries.

He also said that China is willing to work with the United Nations and the International Olympic Committee, providing Covid-19 vaccines to UN peacekeepers and Olympic athletes.
