Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer to be revealed on September 9 after leaks

Yesterday on Twitch, a streamer leaked a short clip of what appears to be a new mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, which shows a shootout on a Miami-based level with two squads of six, both fighting for a VIP. The map is quite small, but the images show the option of team revivals and an enemy health bar. Those who have seen the clip note the apparent absence of a tactical sprinting ability in the footage. The video was then uploaded to YouTube and attracted a lot of attention before it was finally removed. This all came after Activision’s announcement that the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer would take place next week, on September 9, at 10 a.m. PST.

There aren’t many details at this time, but the presentation will likely stream on Twitch and YouTube via Call of Duty official channels. It is unclear if there will be a game streamed live, what aspects of the mode will be featured, and how it connects to War zone. Considering the leaked images, many assume that streamers and influencers have had early access to the game, so there could be a game to show from those sessions. They accompanied the announcement with a teaser clip, which showed players driving buggies, using what appears to be a helicopter gunner and all-out war in a ruined cavern.

Activision has confirmed small details for multiplayer, such as cross-generation and platform compatibility, a battle pass, and downloadable content after launch. There’s still a lot to reveal in terms of gameplay, new mechanics, gameplay features, and more. Follow the Call of Duty Twitter page to be notified when the multiplayer presentation is published.
