The first major update of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War since the beginning of season 1 is almost upon us.
New content, including maps and modes, is targeting Cold War tomorrow January 14.
The mid-season update should affect War zone Also, although at the time of writing this article we only know new maps and modes for Cold War, though the new store packs will be available to players of both games.
Here’s what to expect from the new mid-season update when it releases tomorrow. An exact time has not been announced. Neither has a file size.
Multiplayer
Expect two major updates for multiplayer in tomorrow’s update:
New Fireteam Map: Sanitorium
Fireteam is one of Black Ops Cold War larger modes, as in many players on large maps. However, unlike Combined Arms, it is not two great teams competing against each other. Instead, multiple squads compete. The various Fireteam maps are rumored to eventually combine to form the new Warzone map, reportedly scheduled for March.
The new Sanitorium map is described like this:
“Deep in the Ural Plains is an experimental Soviet health haven, the focus of a clandestine investigation by NATO forces in September 1984. Low forested hills provide cover for fire squads to gain recognition of the” hotel. ” main main building, circular in shape: a brutalist concrete architectural giant flanked by lakeside structures and a large wooden pier. With links to secret tests within the State Sanatorium U-23, notes found within the grounds of this sprawling complex indicate a conditioning test known as Project Golova. “
New mode: Drop Kick 6v6
This new 6v6 mode pits two teams against each other in an effort to control a nuclear briefcase. A player from one of the teams can carry the briefcase at the same time. This player receives a pistol and nothing else, apart from his teammates, to protect them. You get launch codes and points for controlling the briefcase.
When you die, you won’t respawn until your team’s carrier dies and drops the case. The first team wins 200 and the nuke goes off.
Zombies
New mode: crank
Like the classic Cranked mode in MP, the Zombies version involves activating a countdown timer after each kill. Don’t kill another zombie in time and you will explode.
There’s also another PlayStation exclusive. Raid has been added to the Onslaught playlist with new information from Dark Aether.
I’ll update this post if we know of any new additions to Warzone. For now, this is all that comes to the Black Ops Cold War tomorrow. There will also be new Operator and Blueprint packs in the Item Shop.
