To find Excalibur in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you need to find all the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Treasures of Britain locations and collect one tablet from each one. After that, you will need to head to Myrddin Cave in Hamtunscire and place all these tablets on pillars in a familiar looking vault to claim your prize and the best sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. But before you get too far ahead of you dreaming of mythical swords, you will have to find the tablets, and of course, not all of them are hiding in the easier regions.
While the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Treasure of Britain locations contain the majority of the tablets, you’ll also have to kill a few fans. How difficult you will find this largely depends on your power level, but you’ll quickly find out mid-battle if Woden or Rat Lord Hrothgar are too tough from the angry red text above their health bar. This does not mean that the fight will be completely impossible, just more difficult than it would be if you were a little higher. We recommend using all possible abilities and remembering to dodge those unstoppable attacks. You’ll need to hunt down these roaming bosses too, but we’ve got a location to start looking for below.
Fortunately, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Treasures of Britain caves are much less stressful. With each one, you just need to keep going or down and following the path. If you don’t know where to go next, remember Assassin’s Creed’s penchant for using white as an indicator of the routes you can run or jump on. Where it is sometimes white sheets, it can also be white markings on rock, paint, or even light. Remember also the destructible nature of these environments. Like gear chests and Book of Knowledge locations, you just have to think of motion puzzles.
Right. Ready to find a mythical sword with the best noise ever when you swing it? Here are the Treasure of Britain locations and how to find Excalibur in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
1. Grimes Graves – East Anglia
You may have already experienced Grimes Graves as part of another mystery. If not, you will find a cursed object on the way. But keep going down the caves until you finally reach a giant black flag: ba boom. Pass the flag and you will come to a table with some opal. Take it, but don’t go yet. The tablet is also hidden here. Just smash some plates on top and grab your prize.
2. Santlache Mine – Suthsexe
Fortunately, after that table, the tablets don’t really hide at all. At the Santlache mine in Suthsexe, the caving business is as usual. Get in and keep moving down. You will have to blow up some walls and then go swimming. Don’t get too distracted by all the iron ore that can be broken in the swim, it might be a bit longer than you expected. Surface and you’ll end up in the room with the tablet.
3. Evidence Cavern – Cent
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a habit of using fun mechanics and then not abusing them. The Cavern of Trials is a fun descent with a pile of keys to collect in the middle of the jump. There’s nothing too grueling and more than a hint of Assassin’s Creed Revelations as you go down. You will want the three keys to go through the doors at the bottom of the central well. Once you are done, there is no need to worry about remembering any chess moves as stated in the note. Just keep pulling the moving rocks to use them as platforms and jump over the stalagmites and you will reach the tablet at the end.
4. Old winery – Essexe
The old winery south of Colcestre is very easy after all those jumps. Head to the cave, travel through and eventually you will reach a large cellar. Head to the room with the giant barrels and you have to destroy the lids of the wine barrels to pour the wine into a central drain and float your prize. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough arrows to place the higher ones, there are some out there so you don’t get caught.
5. Wiccan Cave – Eurvicscire
This is another pretty quick one, but you’ll have to be ready for some Eurvicscire-level boar. Enter the cave and find the room with the witch’s curse written on it. In the same room you will find an ice panel that can be broken and you can jump into a hidden room. It is here in a closed room that you will find the tablet. To obtain it, you will have to go to one side of the house to use a bow and break some pots and then the other to enter. On the one hand, you’ll find some adorably killer chickens, but the wild boar on the other.
6. Deoraby Spar Cavern – Snotinghamscire
This time it is the turn of the snowy Snotinghamscire and this is very easy. Just follow the blue crystals inside the cave, watch your steps, and you’ll be out in no time.
7. Red Lichen Cavern – Hamtunscire
The Red Lichen Cavern in Hamtunscire is another one that isn’t too demanding. Keep climbing and you will reach the tablet. Yes, there is green gas, but it is not instantaneous so stay away from it as much as possible and when it is time to take the tablet, do not stay there too long. Eivor will cough a bit, but you won’t die in this particular Treasure of Britain location.
8. Zealot – Hrothgar – Suthsexe
Now, we hate to say it, but it’s Zealot time and there are three to go. If they haven’t appeared on your map yet, the only way to find them is by finding them on county roads. They tend to lurk in one place though, so check where we’ve tagged them on each map and that’s a good place to start. Hrothgar is on foot here, but you will always find Zealots patrolling roads, so keep circling the roads of the region and you will find them.
In terms of tips specific to Hrothgar, he’s a more evil version of the Goliath enemy type, so stay away from his melee and keep dodging. One piece of advice for all fans is to keep using your skills. Unfortunately, it’s never simple and other enemies will almost always join the fray, so use them as ability power builders and then unleash them on the Zealot.
9. Fanatic – Heike – Esssexe
We found Heike north of the Epinga Forest in Essexe and it’s the same deal as Hrothgar, but this guy has a shield so it takes some more thought. Keep using your skills, keep dodging and good luck. You will get your tablet in the end. Who knows where these guys hide these …?
10. Zealot – Woden – Cent
And the last of the three Zealots needed is Woden in Cent. It’s not as complicated as the other two, but it largely depends on your current power level. Just keep thinking about that glowing sword and keep hitting him with those abilities. It’s time to make the most of a flying ax or an 8 and start stomping.
11. Wocig – Hamtunscire
After that, you need a nice cave to relax. Head to Wocig in Hamtunscire and enter the ship. This is completely a climbing puzzle and it’s just a case of following the white walls and ledges. Stop when you see the tar covered space to slide under (otherwise it will go away again) and you will find a rapid fire puzzle. You will be able to see the tablet through a grid and all you have to do is shoot an arrow at the pots on the left that block another sliding entrance. Just keep in mind that everything will catch fire, so be prepared to sneak out before you head in and catch Britain’s last treasure.
Myrddin Cave Location
Now you have your tablets, but what do you need to do with them? Myrddin Cave is not represented by a blue dot like the other areas on the tablet. Instead, the Myrddin Cave location is slightly northwest of Stonehenge in Hamtunscire. You will find it in the trees at the location labeled above. Be on the lookout for level 340 bears. If you are below level, even slightly, an attack awaits you.
Enter and you will discover that this is another Isu vault. You’ll have to take a leap of faith at the starting pit (yes, we had to pluck up our courage too) and then swim a bit into another cavern. From there, keep running along the pillars and down. You’ll know when you’re in the right place as there are twelve pillars (don’t worry, one already has a tablet) and Excalibur waiting in the middle. Put all the tablets in a very satisfying animation and Excalibur is yours. You will then be able to teleport out of the vault with the fire behind you.
Trust us when we say you’ll want to try this size almost immediately. Excalibur already has a Mythic quality, and heavy finishing and critical hits blind nearby enemies. So they can’t see you and your mighty sword coming to finish them off.
