Apple Releases iOS 14.3 Public Beta 1, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and Mini Profiles Available

[ad_1]

Well, it’s no surprise to anyone who noticed that the iOS 14.3 Developer Beta was released yesterday, but Apple sneaked iOS 14.3 to all participants of the Public Beta Program on Friday night.

Even better, if you removed your beta profile from your old device because you were getting an iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini today, new hardware profiles are now available! Just go to the Apple Beta Program home page, log in, and enroll your new device.

How do I install iOS 14.3 Beta?

Please log in to the site above with the device you want to sign up for beta. Go to the iOS 14 tab, then scroll down to Start and click the Enroll your device link. There you will have the option to download the profile to your iPhone. Once you get the confirmation popup, head over to Settings application.

At the top of the app, click the Downloaded profile section at the top and verify that you want to install the profile. Then restart your iPhone when prompted.

Once you restart, go to Settings> General> Software update and download and install iOS 14.3!

What’s new?

There are some fun previews in iOS 14.3, including new icons for Apple’s upcoming ANC over-ear headphones and the still-missing air tags.

The interesting thing about Air Tags is that, judging by where they appear in the find me Apple is looking to do for its Bluetooth browsers what it did for its streaming apps. I mean, wants find me to be an aggregator that can work with everything from your own hardware to third party devices like Tile and Chipolo. Smart, since those manufacturers already have a sizeable user base.

But that’s not all, there are quite a few updates outside of Apple’s vaporware.

  • the Home The app finally allows you to update your HomeKit-enabled hardware without having to open the third-party app.
  • Ecosia, the eco-friendly search engine, is now an option in Safari
  • If you are also testing the beta version of watchOS 7.2, you will now see notifications from Cardio Fitness warning you when your cardiovascular condition drops low enough to negatively affect your VO2 max.
  • App clips can now be launched by scanning a QR code with the camera.
  • Air quality health recommendations are now offered for some regions, including the US, UK, Germany, India, and Mexico.

What is broken / what is fixed?

Honestly, there isn’t much in this category. There is a slight issue if you are capturing photos in the new Apple ProRAW format and the Require Authentication setting in the Home app does not work. That’s.

Pretty good for a beta! There may be one or two more items in the official release notes, but unless you’re a developer, they won’t affect you at all.

Whats Next?

With the United States holidays fast approaching, it’s no surprise that iOS 14.3 is so light. It appears that this is most likely being pushed to fulfill the promise of Cardio Fitness notifications, possibly with a view to implementing them at the same time as the Fitness + subscription service begins.

If you’re interested in beta testing, now is a great time to get on board and check it out. We should see weekly updates between now and early December, with a public release in the first full week after Thanksgiving.

Then it will be in iOS 14.4, Christmas, New Years, and finally we can, Finally Let’s leave 2020 behind.
