Apex Legends’ Dummies Big Day mode was discontinued due to a game-breaking glitch

Respawn has removed Apex Legends’ Dummies Big Day limited-time mode from the rotation for the September evening event. After its release last night, a game-breaking glitch was quickly discovered that was causing games to crash. It is currently unknown when he will return.

“We’re taking a break at the party,” the developer shares on Twitter. “After Dummies Big Day went live, we discovered a bug that caused the server to crash if a player didn’t select the character. For the health of the game and our players, we are shutting it down and working on a solution with the details that will come when we have them. “

The way the Dummies Big Day mode works is simple. Instead of choosing one of the usual legends, select one of the mannequins from the shooting range. They all have the same abilities, so the fun of the gameplay comes from how sharp you are with a weapon rather than your mastery of the skill of a legend. You also run like a big dummy, so there’s a lot of novelty value too, clearly.

The September evening started last night and will run until October 5. The plan is that each week comes with a different mode for a limited time. Since the event started on a Tuesday, we can expect to see a new game mode that day each week.

Now that you can choose between the Legends again, you can check out our Apex Legends character guide for inspiration on who to choose from among the group. We also have an Apex Legends weapons guide, so even if you are a dummy, you will know what to arm yourself with.
