Another 4,802 people in Britain have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 4,285,684, according to official figures released on Friday.

The country also reported 101 other coronavirus-related deaths. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Britain now stands at 126,026. These figures only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test.

More than 26.2 million people in Britain received their first injection of the coronavirus vaccine, according to the latest official figures.

Britain also broke its record for the most coronavirus hits administered in one day with a total of 660,276 doses administered nationwide on Thursday, government figures showed.

According to the British Department of Health and Welfare, almost 50 per cent of all British adults have received a needle stick.

England’s National Health Service (NHS) has warned that Britain will face a “significant reduction” in the supply of vaccines from March 29 onwards.

British Health Secretary Matt Hancock said Thursday that the need to retest 1.7 million doses of vaccines, as well as delays in doses arriving from India, are the reasons Britain will face a “more limited” supply of COVID injections next month. But the government insisted that the country is on track to offer a dose to all adults by the end of July.

To bring life back to normal, countries like Britain, China, Germany, Russia, and the United States have been racing against time to implement coronavirus vaccines.
