Apple He has launched iOS 14.3 and iPad OS 14.3 for all users today. Notable new features in this update are support for the new ProRAW photo format for iPhone 12 Pro series, support for the recently released AirPods Max headphones and support for the recently launched Apple Fitness + service.
Starting with the camera function for the iPhone 12 Pro series, this new ProRAW format will give users more options to modify the details of an image. Each clickable image in this format will be approximately 25MB in size. Users will need to enable this manually through the Settings app in the “Camera” section followed by “Formats”.
Next up is support for the recently released AirPods Max, the first over-the-air wireless headphones released by the company. Updates to iOS 14.3 and iPad OS 1.3 include features like Adaptive Equalizer that tailors sound in real time to personal fit of the ear pads, Hi-Fi audio for rich sound, and more.
As for Apple Fitness +, the new workout subscription service that was announced at the time of WWDC 2020, has been available in only a few countries: the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, for now. - The top search results are displayed with the most relevant matches across movies, TV shows, cast, channels, and sports.
Application clips
- Support for launching app clips by scanning Apple-designed app clip codes via camera or from Control Center
Health
- Ability to indicate pregnancy, lactation, or contraceptive use in Cycle Tracking in the Health app to better manage period and fertile window predictions
Weather
- Air quality data is now available in Weather, Maps and Siri for locations in mainland China
- Air quality health recommendations are provided in Weather and Siri for the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India, and Mexico at certain levels of air quality.
- Air quality data in Weather, Maps and Siri reflect updated national scales for Germany and Mexico
Safari
- Ecosia search engine option in Safari
This release also addresses the following issues:
- Some MMS messages may not be received
- Contact groups could not show members when composing a message
- Some videos would not appear correctly when shared from the Photos app
- Application folders may not open
- Spotlight search results and opening apps from Spotlight may not work
- Bluetooth may not be available in Settings
- MagSafe Duo charger could charge your iPhone wirelessly at less than full power
- Wireless accessories and peripherals that use the WAC protocol may not complete setup
- Keyboard was dismissed when adding a list in Reminders while using VoiceOver
