Mendy opens up about her relationship with Kepa
Edouard Mendy has spoken of his relationship with Kepa Arrizabalaga after usurping the Spaniard as Chelsea’s starting goalkeeper since he arrived from Rennes.
The Senegalese international has also opened up about Petr Cech’s influence and the role the Czech stopper played in luring him to Stamford Bridge from Ligue 1 in the summer transfer window.
“I have a very good relationship with Kepa and the group of goalkeepers that we have, we are all very open and we all understand that the team is the most important thing here, and doing the right thing for the group,” Mendy said.
“So our relationships are all really good, we work well together and we push each other every day to improve and improve each other. And we know as goalkeepers that we have to be united and united, and that is how things are going at the moment ”.
Speaking of Cech, Mendy said: “Petr has followed me for many years and played a particularly important role in the transfer. Now it is up to me to return his interest in me, having brought me to the club. “

Chelsea manager faces big decision from Pulisic
Frank Lampard has a big decision to make about Christian Pulisic ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Manchester United on Saturday.
Despite the number of newcomers over the summer, Pulisic remains as integral as ever in the Blues’ attack line, but fitting in for the American has proven challenging in the early part of the season.
Pulisic suffered a staggered start to the 2020/21 campaign due to injury, but has played every minute for Chelsea since the international break on the right side of a 4-2-3-1 formation.
This is in contrast to the way Pulisic was used to great effect on the left side last season, so how can Lampard fit him into his squad alongside so many new signings? Josh Williams has taken a look at football.london.

Lampard gets an injury boost
Only Kepa Arrizabalaga will be absent from Chelsea for the trip to face Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend, Frank Lampard revealed.
With the exception of the Spanish goalkeeper, the Blues are in good health. Lampard will have all six summer transfers available for the second time after all participated in a 0-0 draw with Sevilla earlier in the week.
Thiago Silva fell awkwardly in that Champions League game, raising fears the Brazilian will lose to Manchester United, but Lampard confirmed that the central defender will be available.
“Both of them [Thiago Silva and Pulisic] they’re fine, ”said the Blues boss. “We have a fairly clean state of health apart from Kepa, who has a shoulder injury, so he does not travel. The only player out is Billy Gilmour, who is not far behind. “
