East N.J. Governav. Chris Christie leaves the hospital after treatment for COVID-19

Former New Jersey Gov. Christy Christie was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, shortly after testing positive for COVID-19 last week.

“I’m happy to let you know that I’ve been released from Morristown Medical Center this morning,” Christie tweeted. “I thank the extraordinary doctors and nurses who took care of me last week. Thank you for the prayers of my family and friends. I’ll have more to say about all of this next week. “

Christie announced last Saturday that she had tested positive for COVID-19 two days after President Trump tested positive for the virus. Hours later, a Trump ally examined the center as a “precautionary measure” and said his asthma history was the cause.

“In consultation with my doctors, I examined myself at Morristown Medical Center this afternoon. When I feel better and only see mild symptoms, we decide this is an important precautionary measure because of my asthma history.”

Christie Trump’s discussion was part of the prep team before the Sept. 29 debate between Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Christie later said that when people gathered in the map room of the White House the night before to help Trump prepare for the debate, no one wore a face mask.

“We were – this group – about five or six people,” Christie told ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Christie was also present at the Rose Garden event a few days ago, where Trump announced that he would nominate Amy Connie Barrett to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat.

Along with Trump, several top White House officials, Trump campaign officials and Republican lawmakers later tested positive for the virus. Trump was also hospitalized but then returned to the White House.
