Destiny 2: Solstice of Heroes 2020 armor upgrades and activities

Destiny 2The third annual Solstice of Heroes event is here, and it has brought a very similar grind as last year. Players will start with blue rarity “updated” gear, and get the task to level up to Majestic and finally Magnificent. Solstice of Heroes runs August 11 – Sept. 8.

This Solstice of Heroes, players can make their armor without buying special items from the in-game Eververse store (see the white gloss above). However, players who purchase the Eververse Shine will receive Universal Ornaments – which means it is a prospect that players can apply to any weapon – that glows depending on their current subclass. Bungie will be updating this gloss to add a new Stasis color once it launches Beyond Light later this year.

Here are the activities in Solstice of Heroes 2020, and the requirements to upgrade each set of weapons.

Solstice of Heroes 2020 activities

European air zone

The European Aerial Zone is a recurring activity for Lot 2‘S Solstice of Heroes of 2020. It takes place in a unique area around the EDZ, but you have access to it in the Tower.

To succeed in the European Air Zone, you must kill as many minibosses as you can within the time limit that the game gives you. When the time is up, you will face the final boss. Kill it, and you will return to the European airspace to hunt for treasure. The more minibosses you kill, the more boxes you have to hunt.

To open these boxes, you will need Solstice Key Fragments. To earn the key fragments, you must complete activities during the Solstice of Heroes event.

Elemental Orbs

Solstice of Heroes has a daily rotating elemental combustion, which enhances the powers of Arc, Solar, as Void for the day.

Killing enemies with elemental energy throws up an Elemental Orb, which is not bound to the burns of the day. But if you collect 30 Elemental Orbs that match the daily burn, you will activate a powerful buff, depending on the element.

This is what they do in Bungie’s own words:

• Configure your Arc subclass and weapons to generate Arc orbs. Then, gather them to spread their Arc elemental power. While powerful, Guardians move with improved speed and deal with larger cases and sword damage.
• Save your solar subclass and weapons to generate Solar orbs. Then, gather them to spread their Solar Elemental power. While powerful, the Guardians emit a burning wave of energy that damages everything around them.
• Drive your Void subclass and weapons to generate Void orbs. Then, gather them to spread their Void elemental power. Crouch while empowered to become invisible and win Truesight plus enhanced power regeneration.

Eva will first give you the helmet for the renewed set, and ask you to complete a run in European airspace. Put on the helmet and complete the activity. When you are ready, come back to them. She will give you a new quest to meditate at the Statue of Heroes. Commit them, and you will get the full set. Put it all off and talk to her again.

Complete the objectives below to upgrade your updated set to the Majestic set.

Hunter

• Helmet: Complete runs through the European air zone, get precision bullets, defeat Fallen
• Gauntlets: Fill in playlist lines, collect Solar orbs in Gambit, unlock Solstice packages
• Chest: Defeat enemies in the European Air Zone with each subclass, collect any Elemental Orbs, Defeat enemies in the European Air Zone while using a solar subclass
• Boots: Fill public events on Nessus, defeat enemy Guardians in Crucible of Gambit, defeat enemies with Super abilities
• Coat: Complete adventures, collect Arc orbs from Strikes, complete Crucible or Gambit matches

Titan

• Helmet: Complete runs through the European air zone, gaining precision kills, defeating Hive
• Gauntlets: Defeat enemies in the European Air Zone with each subclass, Defeat enemies with Super Capacities, Defeat enemies in the European Air Zone while using an Arc subclass
• Chest: Complete adventures, collect Solar orbs from Strikes, defeat Guardians in Crucible of Gambit matches
• Boots: Complete public events on Nessus, collect Void orbs in Crucible of Gambit, unlock Solstice packages
• Note: Complete playlist Strikes, collect all Elemental Orbs, complete Crucible and Gambit matches

Warlock

• Helmet: Completely runs through the European air zone, gets precision kills, reports Cabal
• Gauntlets: Complete playlist Strikes, collect any Elemental Orbs, kill Guardians in Gambit of Crucible
• Chest: Complete adventures, collect Arc orbs in Crucible of Gambit, unlock Solstice packages
• Boots: Defeat enemies in the European Air Zone with each subclass, collect Solar orbs in Strikes, Defeat enemies in the European Air Zone while using a Void subclass
• Bond: Fill public events on Nessus, defeat enemies with Super abilities, complete Crucible or Gambit matches

Upgrade your Majestic armor

After upgrading your set to Majestic, complete these objectives to upgrade to Magnificent.

Hunter

• Helmet: Defeat enemies with elemental damage, Defeat enemies in European airspace, Defeat enemies with Arc weapons
• Gauntlets: Fill heroic public events, collect Arc orbs in Strikes, defeat Cabal with a subclass corresponding to the daily elemental bonus
• Chest: Complete Gambit matches, collect Elemental Orbs with a subclass corresponding to the daily elemental bonus, defeat enemies with Void grenades
• Boots: Defeat enemies in Strikes using a subclass corresponding to the daily elemental bonus, Defeat enemies with abilities, Kill enemy Guardians in Gambit and Crucible with Void weapons as a team
• Coat: Complete patrols, collect every Elemental Orbs in the European air zone, defeat bosses

Titan

• Helmet: Complete Gambit matches, collect Elemental Orbs with matching subclasses, defeat enemy Guardians in Crucible or Gambit with Arc weapons as a team
• Gauntlets: Complete Heroic Public Events, defeat enemies with abilities, defeat boss
• Chest: Defeat enemies in Strike playlists with the daily elemental bonus subclass, defeat enemies in the European Aerial Zone, defeat Fallen with the daily elemental bonus subclass
• Boots: Defeat enemies with elemental damage, collect Void orbs in Strikes, defeat enemies with Solar Melee Kills
• Note: Complete patrols on Io, collect every Elemental Orbs in the European air zone, kill enemies with Solar Weapons

Warlock

• Helmet: Defeat enemies in Strike playlists with a subclass corresponding to the daily elemental bonus, collect all Elemental Orbs in European airspace, defeat bosses
• Gauntlets: Defeat enemies with elemental damage, collect Elemental Orbs with matching subclasses, defeat enemy Guardians in Gambit or Crucible with Solar weapons as a team
• Chest: Complete Gambit matches, defeat enemies with capabilities, defeat enemies with Void weapons
• Boots: Complete heroic public events, collect Solar orbs in Strikes, defeat Hive with a subclass that matches the daily elemental bonus
• Bond: Complete patrols on Titan, defeat enemies in the European air zone, kill enemy Guardians in Crucible and Gambit with Arc Supers
