The “Confident” star announced the happy news through Instagram on Wednesday night. The two-time Grammy nominee posted photos of what appeared to be a beachside proposal and gave fans their first look at her diamond ring.
“When I was little, my biological father always called me his ‘little partner,’ something that might have sounded strange without his southern cowboy accent,” Lovato began. “For me, it made a lot of sense. And today, that word makes sense again, but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.”
Addressing her fiancé, she wrote: “@ maxehrich: I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I cannot describe to anyone who has not experienced it first hand, but fortunately you have too. I have never felt it. Unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) and all the flaws. You never pressure me to be anything other than me. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. “
Later, Lovato wrote that she is “honored to accept” her “hand in marriage.”
