Microsoft seems to be enjoying watching users struggle to find the features of Windows 10 these days. After moving the New beginning feature in the latest version, 2004, and reducer the number of days Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise and Education users can manually delay updates, the company is now experimenting with moving key Control Panel features, including system info, to Settings, TechRadar stained. Is a change that some longtime Windows users might not easily take.

If you are like me and have been using the Control Panel for decades, get used to this feature will be so hard how unlearn a bad habit.

To be fair, it’s a bit redundant to have information about your system’s specifications located in three different locations, not to mention that all three don’t display exactly the same information. Currently, Windows 10 users can access hardware information about their PC in various places, but the main ways are: Control panel> System and security> Systemand Settings> System> About, or by typing ‘system information’ in the search bar.

System and About show almost the same information, what processor you have and how much RAM you have installed, for example, except that About will show you what version of Windows you have. System information displays more detailed information about your PC, including your motherboard, GPU, and other hardware. Microsoft is trying to centralize this informationand moving forward it seems likely that The control panel will be killed entirely.

This is just one of the few features of Windows 10 that have been modified in the latest Windows Insider update, Windows 10 Build 20161.

“We continue to work to bring the capabilities of the Control Panel to Configuration,” the company said in a blog post announcing the update.

Say goodbye to the control panel. She had a good streak of 35 years.

Is centralization of information is a continuation from Windows 8, when microsoft introduced the setup app. Microsoft really wanted to unify its own intelligencephone and its latest operating system at the moment while also pushing their own tabletsbut, the company He really underestimated how his users would react to the change. Windows 10 still has some of those Windows 8 features, including the Godhorrible widgets in the start menu.

Still, if Microsoft wants to finally remove the entire Control Panel, it will have to do a much better job of communicating the changes to Windows 10 users, whether they are Windows Insiders or not, if it wants to calm the inevitable complaints.

However, there is lots of third parties software options available it will give youour hardware specifications, and much more,if you want to abandon Microsoft’s built-in tools. CPU-Z (It’s free!) Will tell you all of that and give you a real-time measurement of the internal frequency of each core, among other things. Speccy is another good free system information tool. Right now, searching for your system information in About Only is really good for remembering which version and build of Windows 10 operating system you have.
