Daniela Patiño, a 25-year-old girl, had been reported missing on December 25 in the Manrique La Salle neighborhood, where she was with her ex-boyfriend, who was the last to see her. Initially, this man said that the woman had left in a taxi.
However, days later, the 30-year-old man surrendered to the authorities, confessed that he killed the young woman and threw his corpse in the waters of the Medellín river.
Said confession was made before the Prosecutor’s Office and from there he was sent to a foster home located in the Suramericana neighborhood of Medellín. This, to prevent him from fleeing while the respective arrest warrant was issued.
On the morning of this Wednesday, the police confirmed that the man committed suicide in that place using a blade. According to the authorities report, the man had already tried to take his own life last Monday, when he caused a traffic accident in Itagüí.
