The mayor of Cartagena, William Dau Chamatt, confirmed this Sunday, November 22, that he dismissed from his administration Cynthia del Carmen Pérez Amador, who had been awarded the honorary title of first lady of the city, because it was confirmed that the degree certificate presented by the official was false.
“With the pain in my soul, Cinthya Pérez no longer goes with the administration of ‘Let’s save Cartagena together’, and I say it with my heart broken by the love I have for her and not only for that, but for the hard work that he had been doing the honorary title “Dau said in a video released this Sunday by the district administration.
The mayor of the walled city explained that this decision was made after the mayor’s office for human talent asked the internal control office to verify the authenticity of the documents presented by the official to obtain the contract.
This office, in turn, contacted the Universidad Corporación Universitaria Regional del Caribe (Iafic), which was asked to verify the veracity of the university degree, where they denied the authenticity of the document.
In turn, Dau indicated that Cynthia Pérez was the one who really represented him in the neighborhoods of the city and that is why she was so “disappointed”.
“But you have to be consistent, the people of Cartagena chose me, not for being a politician but for being an anti-corruption activist, above all there is transparency, probity, honesty”, assured the president of Cartagena.

The mayor assured that the official had worked with him many years before he began his political campaign for the walled city, and then she would become the manager of his campaign and a person of his entire confidence.
Likewise, he recalled that “First Lady” was involved in a scandal over an alleged false labor certification at the beginning of the year, but that this “much stronger” document was impossible to ignore.
“I don’t know if she was poorly advised, if she was scared, but Cinthya my heart is with you, but you have to understand that this is a decision that has no turning back,” said Dau.
The First Lady”

The “first lady” who represented the black and popular communities of the city that managed to position Dau as mayor with the anti-corruption flag, was investigated by the District Comptroller of Cartagena for its contract with the administration Because according to the entity, she was not qualified to exercise her position, for which she charged 7 million pesos.
