With 6 victims, Calarcá surpassed the number of deaths from Covid-19 in the same day to Armenia

The department is close to 600 deaths from Covid-19, with the 9 deaths that it adds this Tuesday. Likewise, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Departmental Health Secretariat, there are also 241 new infections in: Armenia with 178, Calarcá with 29, Circasia with 10, Montenegro with 10, La Tebaida with 6, Pijao with 3, Quimbaya with 2, Córdoba with 1, Filandia with 1 and Genoa with 1.

The deaths occurred in: Armenia with 2, Calarcá with 6 and Circasia with 1. It is the first time that the ‘Villa del Cacique’ exceeds the number of deaths in the Quindian capital. The victims of the disease were 4 women between 43 and 82 years of age and 4 men between 53 and 78 years. With the new figures, the total number of cases reported in Quindío is already 22,547, 18,447 recovered and 596 deaths.

In the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, there are 12,526 new cases for this Tuesday, December 22, in districts and departments such as: Bogotá with 3,439, Antioquia with 1,944, Valle del Cauca with 801, Tolima with 745, Cartagena with 732, Barranquilla with 586, Santander with 518, Cundinamarca with 495, Risaralda with 323, Norte de Santander with 314, Cesar with 245, Caldas with 242, Atlántico with 238, Boyacá with 229, Huila with 210, Cauca with 209, Meta with 207, Nariño with 143, Santa Marta with 119, La Guajira with 113 and Caquetá with 104.

The number of deaths in Colombia in the last 24 hours due to causes associated with the virus is 251, continuing the rise. To date, Colombia reaches 1,530,593 people confirmed with the virus, 1,394,374 recovered and 40,931 deaths. In the world there are already 77,783,803 infected, 43,857,997 recovered and 1,711,805 deceased.
