The information was explained by Daniel Palacios, the Vice Minister of Political Relations, of the Ministry of the Interior, this Monday in the ‘Prevention and Action’ program, within the framework of the recently extended health emergency.

The official said that from this Tuesday, December 1, said decree, issued by the Ministry of the Interior, which extends the “Selective isolation and individual distancing from self-care”.

Palacios pointed out that the document maintains the vast majority of the measures in force for several months, but detailed that yes it will have “some very simple modifications”:

“First of all we establish a clear ban on discos and dance venues. Before they were not and today it is clear as an express order that the discos will not be able to operate during the validity of this decree, which will go until January 16 when the Christmas season and end of the year ends.

On the other hand, yes there may be pilots in bars and restaurants with liquor consumption, but it will be the mayors who must make the request and have the authorization of the Ministry of the Interior.

Palacios detailed that commercial establishments already had this authorization They can continue to provide service without repeating the request in the new isolation stage, in which other prohibitions are also maintained:

“Public, private or social events that involve crowds and the consumption of intoxicating beverages in public spaces. However, the sale of liquor is not prohibited ”.

In this sense, the vice minister reminded local leaders that they have the power to decree dry law or other measures of public order, but that they must be informed to the Ministry of the Interior so that it can be evaluated in conjunction with the Ministry of Health for the municipalities with high virus involvement.

Palacios also recalled that the border closure will also extend until 2021.
