A new massacre has the country dismayed. In Buga, Valle del Cauca, five young people died after being shot by strangers in the early morning of Sunday, January 24.
To the Cerro Rico village, of that municipality in the center of the department, Three armed men arrived at the Santa Marta farm. Five boys who were chatting there were killed in the attack, two other people were injured.

Jacobo Pérez Vasquez
Standing, Jacobo Pérez Vásquez, 18 years old.
Jacobo Pérez Vásquez is the son of Wilson Alberto Pérez, the owner of the farm where the massacre occurred.
This young man, 18 years old, was a member of the Huracanes Buga hockey club. In fact, he dreamed of being the best athlete in roller hockey, but death overcame him in his fight to survive.

His dreams were dashed by the shooting against him and other people in his family. There were six more young people who were chatting with Jacobo Pérez at a party on the same farm.
One of the hypotheses is that the unknown persons would have arrived at the property around two in the morning on Sunday, asking for Jacobo Pérez.

His father allegedly said that they were trying to kidnap his son, but the Prosecutor’s Office is still investigating.
It is also investigated if it was an attack against the boy or his father.
Nicolas Suarez
Nicolás Suárez Valencia was a member of the Huracanes hockey and skate club in Buga, like Jacobo Pérez.
Like this young sportsman, Nicolás Suárez Valencia also aspired to continue training at the same Huracanes Buga hockey club.
Given what happened, the president of the Colombian Skating Federation, José Acevedo, and his executive committee, reported: “We regret this difficult and painful moment and we express our solidarity with his entire family.

Sara Maria Rodriguez
Sara María Rodríguez García, 18 years old.
Sara María Rodríguez García, meanwhile, was 18 years old, her father is a doctor who works at the Divino Niño Hospital in Buga.
The fifth victim is a 17-year-old girl, who they identified as Valentina. It is known that he had recently graduated from high school.

The injured are Santiago Tascón, who suffered a wound to the abdomen, and the butler Ramiro Antonio Martínez, 60 years old.
The latter was shot twice in the lower back and in the left side of his body.

The mayor of Buga, Julián Rojas, said that the city is in mourning and that all these young people “were good young people, full of dreams.”

The Mayor’s Office of Buga and the Government of Valle del Cauca announced a reward of up to 200 million pesos, of which 50 million are contributed by the municipal administration. The department puts in the other 150 million.
