The former president and head of the Democratic Center, Álvaro Uribe, described as “uncomfortable” and “reckless” the audios known this weekend in which his former assistant María Claudia ‘Caya’ Daza is heard talking about the financing of the campaign of the President Iván Duque.
In the recordings, published by Snail News, ‘Caya’ Daza speaks with different interlocutors about alleged complaints that there would be in Uribismo about Luigi Echeverri, who served as manager of Duque’s campaign, in 2018.

Regarding the audios, Uribe said that they were “uncomfortable and reckless, but they are not supported in facts,” and recalled when, at the beginning of this year, he had to acknowledge the participation of Daza – who worked in his legislative work team – in these acts.
The head of the Democratic Center told on Blu Radio how she got to his work team in Congress and said that “there is no possibility” that ‘Caya’ Daza has handled money from President Duque’s campaign.

Regarding Uribe’s alleged call for attention to Luigi Echeverri, which is discussed in the audios known at the weekend, the former president said: “That has not crossed my mind.”
“Luigi Echeverri managed President Duque’s campaign with absolute transparency, a totally transparent handling of campaign finances. On the issue of vote buying: man, that has never occurred to President Duque or an old man like me in his life, “he said.
