The Ministry of Labor and its technical team presented this Wednesday the first study of ‘Human Talent Gaps in the country’, report that was made with 339 companies, and that accounts for the needs of the labor market in sectors such as cultural industries, audiovisual, laboratories and BPO.
In him it was diagnosed what should be the competences and capacities of human talent and what positions and profile of workers these sectors require for their development.
During the presentation, Martha Agudelo, director of generation and protection of employment and family allowance of the Ministry of Labor, pointed out that “Skills gaps are one of the main barriers to hiring qualified human talent by companies”, and hence the importance and relevance of this first study.
According to the report, the need for the English language was evidenced in human talent in the sectors analyzed.
For its part, the study showed that the audiovisual sector requires personnel trained in production, content creation and analytical management.
The sector requires: set editors, actor coaches, web photography technicians, analytics managers, programmers, 3D modeling technicians, augmented reality technicians, audiovisual App creators, scriptwriters, new media producers and digital audiovisual communicators.
For its part, the BPO sector requires personnel in process automation, work under pressure, teamwork, listening, assertive communication, management and effectiveness, billing, sales goal projection, customer service, with training in the professions of law, business administration, international business and finance, systems engineering, electronic engineering, mechatronics engineering, and telecommunications engineering.
Meanwhile, the laboratory sector is looking for human talent in manotechnology, robotics, non-contact measurements, smart measurements, molecular biology, generic engineering and precision medicine, photonics and proteomics.
After the presentation of the study, the Minister of Labor Ángel Custodio Cabrera, indicated that he will make this study available to the Ministry of Education and the Sena, so that they define the path that educational centers should take in training Colombians to execute programs if they are needed in the productive sector.
