Teleworking in Colombia: how to do it better?
Regarding cyber security, these are some recommendations:
Protect documents with password
Companies can strengthen the exchange of information with document encryption or the generation of files with passwords in which only the sender and receiver know the keys.
“In this way, in the event that the file is lost, it will not be so easy to violate it,” says Jesús Heriberto Martínez, Professional Services Business Director of OlimpiaIT.
Digital signature of documents
Public and private companies need to sign documents and to avoid displacement they can do so easily with solutions on the web, such as www.firmamos.com, which allow the dematerialization and immaterialization of the same, with full legal validity.
Malicious email identification
Users may receive emails from malicious companies engaged in ‘phishing’ or impersonation to steal information on the Internet. The first thing to do to identify them is to check the time the mail was received.
It is not common for business mail to arrive outside of office hours. Also, it is important to verify the domain (the word after the at sign) because they are usually names similar to entities that change by just one letter (for example: @ Gobierno.gov.co), according to a statement from Olimpia IT sent to the media. .
Have a good internet connection
In order for all of the above to be fulfilled, it is necessary for people to have an optimal internet system so that connections are not interrupted by system failures. One tip is to work close to the router or modem to get the best signal.
Stay in touch with instant messaging tools
Using Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Apple iMessages to keep in touch in real time and help smooth out the impact of email is one option to keep in touch quickly.
However, it is advisable to have a contingency plan in case any of these media collapses or presents errors, USA Today added.
