A meeting between the former president and head of the Democratic Center, Álvaro Uribe, and some members of the Char family took place last weekend.

EL TIEMPO learned that the meeting took place last Saturday, at the El Ubérrimo farm in Córdoba, of the ex-president, and that would have been agreed for several months, before Uribe had suffered from covid.

At the meeting were Fuad Char, head of the respected and influential political family, and his son Alex Char, former mayor of Barranquilla and former governor of Atlántico.

Most of the topic, as was hardly natural, was politics and there was talk of the possibility of making alliances for the presidential elections of 2022.

A few weeks ago, Uribe told EL TIEMPO that he hopes Uribismo will explore coalitions for the next elections, for which the determination of the government of President Iván Duque in the coming months is key.
