José María Ortega Niño was sent to jail by a judge accused of being responsible for kidnapping, torturing, and attacking in different ways his ex-partner, a 24-year-old woman, in an apartment in the Cedritos sector, in the north of Bogotá .

As reported by the Prosecutor’s Office, the events occurred between August 23 and 31, and two months after the relationship they had been maintaining for a year and a half had ended, Ortega decided to attack the young woman.

“According to what was established, that August 31 in the morning, the young woman would have been the victim of a new attack by the accused today. The information obtained in the investigations shows that she approached the window to ask for help and threw her jacket with the identification card; however, in the middle of the situation, she fell through the window from a third floor, after being allegedly pushed, “they said from the investigating body.

Members of the Fire Department helped the woman and took her to a clinic where she was given a provisional medical-legal disability of 90 days, while the alleged assailant fled.

In a hearing held before the 61st municipal criminal court of Bogotá, the Prosecutor’s Office charged the captured man with the crimes of attempted aggravated femicide, simple kidnapping, torture and violent carnal access. All crimes he denied.

However, there is a history that puts this man against the wall. According to official information, he is being investigated in 12 processes, three of them for domestic violence. In addition, it was determined that he is being investigated for alleged assaults committed against his mother and the mother of his four-year-old daughter.
