Such is the situation in the city that Mayor William Dau will decree public calamity because around 70% of neighborhoods they are under water.
The attorney general, Fernando Carrillo, made an alert call from his Twitter account. “SOS Cartagena. Clear public calamity. Floods and many lives at risk. Very affected neighborhoods: Pozón, Villa Rosita, Socorro, Mamonal Industrial Sector, Palmeras, Policarpa, Ricaurte, Fredonia, landslides in various sectors ”, he wrote on the social network.
Social networks are filling with videos made by citizens who are suffering the climate situation there. Vehicles are being displaced by the current of the streams and many people have had to leave their homes to find a safer place.
Worst of all is that relief agencies have not been able to deal with the emergency in various parts of the city because the rains do not stop and prevent access to those places, according to El Heraldo.
