The intensity of the rains that fell this Thursday caused serious floods in the north of Bogotá and affected TransMilenio.

Perhaps the most intense day of the winter season that shakes the Bogotá savannah was presented this Thursday. Thousands of people from the towns of Chapinero and Barrios Unidos faced a storm with very intense hail.

Due to the large amount of water that fell, serious floods have been registered in the north of Bogotá. The sectors of Chicó, Virrey, Héroes, Alcázares and Siete de Agosto have been the most affected by the floods. Even roads such as the North Highway, NQS Avenue and 80th Street were seriously affected.

The floods have caused flooding in the depressed passage of Calle 80 with the North Highway, in Los Héroes. In addition, NQS avenue between 66 and 72 streets had a huge water dam, which exceeded the level of the platforms.

Similar cases were seen on roads such as Carrera 24 with Calle 72, where several people had to literally push their cars to get them out of the puddles.

Faced with the emergency, the Idiger called on the citizens of Bogota not to throw rubbish on the streets. The floods in the north of Bogotá could be repeated, as the Ideam weather forecast indicates new days passed by water for the next few days.

TransMilenio announced that, due to the rains, there are delays in the Caracas, NQS, Norte and NQS Sur trunks.
