Units of the Santander Traffic and Transportation Police and Colombia Migration intercepted at the Tienda Nueva tollbooth, on Thursday night, a caravan of 16 buses that was traveling between Bucaramanga and Barrancabermeja, bound for Ecuador.
Apparently, the buses transported about 500 immigrants, many of whom did not have the documentation required to move around the country.
Throughout the night, the foreigners spent the night inside the buses at the site located very close to the Hidrosogamoso dam, while the authorities carried out the procedure to verify the documents and request the necessary support to serve the migrant population.
It was known that several of the vehicles were returned to Bucaramanga, with the accompaniment of Esmad and the Santander Traffic Police. It is expected that in the next few hours, Migración Colombia will rule on what will be the procedure to resolve this situation.
