According to the ‘Report on preliminary examination activities 2020’ released this Monday, “after a detailed evaluation and analysis of the available information, the Prosecutor’s Office concluded that there is a reasonable basis to believe that crimes under the jurisdiction of the Court in Venezuela since at least April 2017 “.
The document recalls that “the situation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has been under preliminary examination since February 8, 2018.”

The text states that “the Prosecutor’s Office has concluded that the information available at this stage provides a reasonable basis to believe that, At least since April 2017, civil authorities, members of the armed forces and individuals in favor of the Government have committed the crimes against humanity of imprisonment or other serious deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental norms of international law (…) ”, torture, rape and / or other forms of serious sexual violence
