Valle reported 27 deaths from covid-19 and 699 new infections this Saturday

In Valle del Cauca, 27 more citizens died from covid-19 and 699 contracted the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Saturday.

In this way, Valle del Cauca, the third department in Colombia with the highest contagion rate, behind Cundinamarca and Antioquia, reached 73,099 cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The deaths correspond to patients from Cali (17), Yumbo (3), Cartago (2), Palmira, Jamundí, Caicedonia, Tuluá, Buga.

Nationwide, 7,017 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 952,371.

Of these, 73,966 remain active, while 847,467 outgrew the virus.

Across the country, 187 deaths from covid-19 were reported. Deaths due to the disease are already 28,803.

The National Institute of Health, INS, clarified that 168 of the reported deaths occurred in previous days.

On the other hand, he pointed out that this Saturday 28,856
PCR tests and 15,035 antigens for virus detection.
