Valle reported 21 more deaths from covid-19 and 482 new cases this Tuesday

In Valle del Cauca, 21 more citizens died from covid-19 and 482 contracted the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Tuesday.

In this way, Valle del Cauca, the fourth department of Colombia with the highest contagion rate, behind Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Atlántico, reached 62,118 cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The deaths correspond to patients from Cali (10), Tuluá (6), Palmira (2), Buga, Zarzal and Cartago (1).

Nationwide, 5,839 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 824,042.

Of these, 62,307 remain active, while 734,154 outgrew the virus.

Across the country, 187 deaths from covid-19 were reported. Deaths due to the disease are already 25,828.

The National Institute of Health, INS, clarified that 164 of the reported deaths occurred in previous days.

On the other hand, he noted that this Tuesday 21,684 PCR tests and 12,795 antigens were processed for the detection of the virus.
