Valle registers 25 deaths from covid-19 this Saturday, of which 14 are from Cali

Valle del Cauca registered 25 new deaths from covid-19 this Saturday, according to the bulletin of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

The deaths occurred in Cali (14), Palmira (3) and one by one in Jamundí, Pradera, Cartago, La Unión, Calima – El Darien, Florida, El Cerrito and Bugalagrande.

As for new cases, the highest health authority confirmed 409 infections in the department.

With this report, the Valley reached 188,511 infected people and 5,912 died from diseases related to the new coronavirus.

Of the 1125 Intensive Care Units in the department, 505 (44.9%) are occupied by confirmed or suspected cases of covid-19 and 396 (35.2%) by patients with other pathologies, while 224 (19 , 9%) are available.

Colombia reported less than 5000 cases

Minsalud reported 4,947 new cases of covid-19 this Saturday, along with 229 deaths from the disease in the country. Of the deaths reported today, 199 correspond to previous days. In addition, 5,598 recovered from the virus in the last day.

The departments with the most infections were Bogotá (1,314), Antioquia (598), Valle (409), Cundinamarca (352), Santander (343), Boyacá (184), Córdoba (152), Cartagena (137), Santa Marta (126 ), Barranquilla (118), Atlántico (114), Huila (106) and Norte de Santander (104).

The departments with the lowest number of infections were Caldas (98), Nariño (93), Tolima (86), Amazonas (74), Quindío (73), Cauca (67), Risaralda (65), Cesar (63), Casanare ( 43), Magdalena (43), Meta (43), Bolívar (27), Putumayo (25), Chocó (22), Sucre (20), Guajira (17), Arauca (12), Caquetá (12), Guaviare ( 3), Guainía (2), San Andrés (1) and Vichada (1).

Thus, Colombia reached 2,190,116 confirmed infections of the virus. Of these cases, 2,078,391 have already been recovered, while 47,859 are still active. Deaths from covid-19 in the country amount to 57,425.

It should be mentioned that 42,804 tests were processed this day: 27,766 PCR tests and 15,038 antigen tests.
