Valle registered 24 deaths from covid-19 and 344 new infections this Thursday

In Valle del Cauca, 24 more citizens died from covid-19 and 344 contracted the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Thursday.

In this way, Valle del Cauca, the fourth department in Colombia with the highest contagion rate, behind Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Atlántico, reached 48,471 cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The deaths correspond to patients from Cali (16), Buenaventura (3), Yumbo (2), Candelaria, Palmira, Cartago (1).

At the national level, 8,235 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 641,574.

Of these, 130,471 remain active, while 489,151 outgrew the virus.

Throughout the country, 270 deaths from covid-19 were reported. Deaths due to the disease are already 20,618.

The National Institute of Health, INS, clarified that 246 of the deaths reported this Thursday occurred in previous days.

On the other hand, he noted that this Thursday 23,735 PCR tests and 10,273 antigens were processed for the detection of the virus.
