Valle registered 17 deaths from covid-19 and 556 new cases this Monday

In Valle del Cauca, 17 more citizens died from covid-19 and 556 contracted the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Monday.

In this way, Valle del Cauca, the fourth department in Colombia with the highest contagion rate, behind Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Atlántico, reached 61,637 cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

The deaths correspond to patients from Cali (13), Palmira, Jamundí, Buenaventura and Yumbo (1).

At the national level, 5147 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 818,203.

Of these, 68,308 remain active, while 722,536 outgrew the virus.

Across the country 153 deaths from covid-19 were reported. Deaths due to the disease are already 25,641.

The National Institute of Health, INS, clarified that 130 of the reported deaths occurred in previous days.

On the other hand, he pointed out that this Monday 24,867 PCR tests and 6,391 antigens were processed for the detection of the virus.
