Valle registered 14 deaths from covid-19 and 739 new cases this Friday

In Valle del Cauca, 14 more citizens died from covid-19 and 739 contracted the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Friday.

In this way, Valle del Cauca, the third department in Colombia with the highest contagion rate, behind Cundinamarca and Antioquia, reached 72,400 cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The deaths correspond to patients from Cali (12), Jamundí and Yumbo (1).

At the national level, 8,372 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 945,354.

Of these, 77,616 remain active, while 837,001 outgrew the virus.

Across the country, 159 deaths from covid-19 were reported. Deaths due to the disease are already 28,616.

The National Institute of Health, INS, clarified that 140 of the reported deaths occurred in previous days.

On the other hand, he pointed out that this Friday 25,362 PCR tests and 17,767 antigens were processed for the detection of the virus.
