Valle had 25 more deaths from covid-19 and 584 new cases this Wednesday

In Valle del Cauca, 25 more citizens died from covid-19 and 584 contracted the disease, the Ministry of Health confirmed this Wednesday.

In this way, Valle del Cauca, the fourth department in Colombia with the highest contagion rate, behind Cundinamarca, Antioquia and Atlántico, reached 62,702 cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The deaths correspond to patients from Cali (13), Tuluá (5), Buga (2), Cartago, El Cerrito, Obando, Candelaria, Florida.

Nationwide, 5,637 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 743,653.

Of these, 58,262 remain active, while 743,653 outgrew the virus.

Throughout the country, 170 deaths from covid-19 were reported. Deaths due to the disease are already 25,998.

The National Institute of Health, INS, clarified that 150 of the reported deaths occurred in previous days.

On the other hand, he pointed out that this Wednesday 23,147 PCR tests and 12,146 antigens were processed for the detection of the virus.
