In a interview with Cauca ExtremoÁlvaro Uribe assured that there must be more leadership, and if President Iván Duque cannot go to a place where a social leader was assassinated, a minister should go, but that he must be present.
“For example, I have told the Government, with the affection that I have for it: ‘Man, where they kill a social leader, if the president cannot go, go the minister, the minister. From there, from the site, [anunciar] vehement rejection, ‘”said the former president.
He added that he has advised the president to put into operation “a local structure of the Armed Forces, Prosecutor’s Office, CTI …”, offer rewards and do everything to capture “those bandits.”
However, also former Senator Uribe, who expressed his sadness over the deterioration of his reputation, assured that crimes against social leaders are an inherited problem, which has to do with the increase in illicit crops.
