In the middle of the second day of demonstrations provoked after the police abuse that ended the life of Javier Ordóñez, a lawyer and father of two children, at dawn this Wednesday, the former president and former senator Álvaro Uribe spoke out.

Uribe published his position on the public order situation in the country on his social networks: he asked for a curfew and military personnel in the streets of the country.

“Best curfew of the National Government, Armed Forces in the street, with their vehicles and tanks, deportation of foreign vandals and capture of masterminds. Better than dead, wounded police, than destruction of CAIS, risks to Transmilenio and the Medellin Tram “.

In the midst of the house arrest in which Uribe is found, due to a process that is being followed against him in the Office of the Prosecutor for alleged manipulation of witnesses, he launched this trill that has caused controversy regarding the actions he requests in the face of the events that occurred in the last two days.

Senators from the Democratic Center bench supported that proposal.

“LAW AND ORDER (sic) • National curfew • Militarization in capital cities
• Firmness against vandals and inciters of more violence. Support for Soldiers and Police of the Homeland #ManoFirmeOtraVez “, trilled the representative to the House, Juan David Vélez.

Hours before, the former senator was launched at the ready against the mayor Claudia López, saying that “always so demanding, he declares himself incapable of guaranteeing order.”

“Nobel anticipates violence; Candidate sets it on fire; Mayor, always so demanding, declares himself incapable of guaranteeing order. The firm authority guarantees order, avoids vandalism and the brutality of some police. (My arrest does not suspend my concern for Colombia ) “, trilled the head of the Democratic Center.

This Thursday there were demonstrations and riots in which new CAI were set on fire and injured people.

The mayor of Bogotá and the president of the Republic called for calm to avoid further chaos in the capital.
