The positions of Donald Trump and Joe Biden in the last debate before the United States elections were not the only thing that caught the attention of the people during the meeting, which took place at Belmont University, in Nashville (Tennessee).
When the event ended, Trump and Melania were holding hands and preparing to leave. At the moment when they had to leave the stage, and just as the camera focused on them, the first lady quickly released the president and walked out in front of him.
In response, Trump tapped Melania on the back.

Comparisons of the treatment between the couples competing for the US presidency were immediate, as Jill Biden, wife of Trump’s opponent, had a totally different gesture: she gave her partner a hug when it was all over.
The attitude of the presidential couple was completely opposite to that of Joe Biden and his wife.
This gesture by Melania joins the several rejections that the first lady has had with Trump in front of the cameras.
In August of this year, Trump and his wife arrived at Andrews Air Force Base, located in Maryland. The couple were descending the stairs of a plane and the president tried to grab Melania’s hand, but she ignored it.

Another similar incident occurred in February 2018. When the couple left the White House, Trump tried to hold his wife’s hand, which did not happen because she was wearing an overcoat, that is, her arms were not inside the sleeves of the garment, so Trump did not achieve his mission.

Also, in April of that year, the couple starred in a curious incident during a visit to Emmanuel Macron, president of France. There the moment was recorded in a video when the American president made several attempts before Melania, finally, ‘gave’ her hand.

In 2017, the couple again gave what to talk about the same situation. The spouses were walking the red carpet at Israel’s Gurion International Airport when Trump held out his hand for his wife to grab, however she pushed it away with a slight shake.
