Two police officers assigned to the Timba station, Cauca, were killed this Friday when they were carrying out patrol work in the border area between that municipality and the homonymous district, jurisdiction of Jamundí, Valle del Cauca.
According to the first information, the uniformed men were transporting in their truck through Valle del Cauca territory when they were intercepted by criminals.
Apparently, the criminals had attacked the vehicle with an explosive device, causing the immediate death of the police officers.
The victims would be the commander of the Timba (Cauca) substation, and the patrolman who was driving the truck.

Through Twitter, the mayor of Jamundí, Andrés Felipe Ramírez, condemned the events
“I feel deep pain for the homicide against two policemen from Timba, Cauca, sister population of our village of Timba, Valle. Territories separated from the river and united by the wounds of the war and that demand peace and reject this criminal act.”
Ramírez stressed that “The only way to overcome this tragic violence is to insist on peace. We will do everything so that life prevails.”
