Around 7:56 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, a strong 4.7 magnitude earthquake was registered with an epicenter in the municipality of Los Santos, Santander. According to the Colombia Geological System, the earthquake registered a depth of 152 kilometers.
The authorities carry out a sweep through the 87 municipalities of the department to verify that there has been no damage to the infrastructure.
Inhabitants of the departments of Boyacá, Santander, Norte de Santander and Cundinamarca assured that they perceived the earthquake.
For its part, the Colombia Geological System made a call not to fall into false alerts that are disseminated through social networks and that supposedly predict imminent earthquakes in the future.
