The report of the Transmilenio system indicated that the protesters were informal vendors who took over the sector of Avenida Jiménez with Caracas, and that they affected the passage of buses. Around 2:00 pm, the company reported that it passed normally.

According to the information, the blockade was both ways, so the company stopped serving the Las Nieves, San Victorino and Museo del Oro stations.

“Return is made in the interconnector of Calle 26 and Tercer Milenio; the services HK54 and LK10 on Calle 6 and NQS in both directions “said Transmilenio.

The annoyance of the merchants has to do with the new restrictions imposed by the Mayor of Bogotá to stop the wave of infections, and within these measures is to suspend the early rises to avoid crowds.

Portafolio spoke with several merchants in the San Victorino area and they all agree that the drastic measures mainly affect formal commerce, since that is where the greatest impact is felt.

“There were 9 days that were not done. Normally, not only merchants from San Victorino participate, but 11,500 family-owned companies – from 25 wineries – that only work on those days (Wednesday and Saturday), ”commented Yansen Estupiñán, manager of the GranSan shopping center.

However, the vendors and owners of these establishments abided by the rules and suspended their early rises, but they agreed, according to Estupiñán, that if the situation persists after these next two weeks “they will take action.”

For now, the report is normal in the city center, since since last Thursday there have been demonstrations due to the strict quarantine order in 9 UPZ of the towns of Suba, Engativá, Fontibón, Kennedy and Usaquén.
