After the first contact with the mountain, the Tour de France heads north and, on the eve of a first arrival at altitude, a short rest is offered, a transitional day with ingredients for a long getaway, but also options for the day ends sprint.
The 198 kilometers between Nice and Sisteron have four mountain difficulties in the first part, of the third and fourth categories, enough terrain to launch a break if there are brave people who want to try it, with a drop of 3,100 meters.
But knowing that the last 50 kilometers are completely flat, which leaves room for the teams of the sprinters to organize the hunt and prepare a grouped arrival.
The favorites for the general classification, meanwhile, will keep their strength thinking that, the next day, a goal awaits at an altitude of more than 1,800 meters.
The squad will leave Nice at 12:10 (CEST) and its arrival in Sisteron is scheduled for 5:17 pm.
